Both SharkGrip nail pullers and pry bars can be sharpened, and burrs removed, with a fine quality steel file. That's because these SharkGrip tools are forged from the finest heat-treated Japanese alloy steel; the nail-pulling and pry ends are double-tempered for added strength. The pulling "V" end is hand-finished for accuracy, then hardened to Rockwell 50-52 hardness. The result is a tool that is so strong it can bite into hardened and stainless steel nails.

Pneumatic nails tend to have weak heads that fold or shear off when you attempt to pull them out by the head. However, SharkGrip nail pullers pull from the shank of the nail, not the head. The hardened "V" of the tool makes a firm, positive bite into the nail's shank; removal is a snap. The underside of the puller is curved, so that it can easily dig into wood, and slide under the head of an imbedded nail-or into the shank of a headless one. The back of the puller is designed to double as a striking head for your hammer to make this operation even easier.
